My heart is all a-flutter

READ HERE NOW!

Lori emailed these photos to me a couple days ago and then my cousin Jen emailed this morning saying that she'd just finished watching New Kids on the Block on the Today Show. "Still as yummy as ever" she said. Amen, sister!

I still remember running home from school to watch their videos and I still have the VHS tapes stored with my high school scrapbooks and memorabilia.

I was shocked when I saw this picture. Did they really look that ridiculous?

Oh, but ladies, let's admit, they grew up reeeeeal nice.

Sookie, sookie, sookie, sookie, UH!

Hey Dan, if you get one of those cool white hats and striped leather jackets, you might get lucky tonight...

A comment on one of the pictures of Jonathan on the NKOTB website said, "damn. if that's what 39 looks like then SIGN ME UP! he was working the hell outta that suit!"

Gotta agree. Jon is the standout hottie after all these years. And what's up with the guys letting him stand in the back on the Today Show interview (watch the video)? I do protest!

Another worthy comment about Jon: "Wow... I didn't pay much attention to you before... what the hell was I thinking? You're the freakin hottest one here! Can I buy a big pin of you now?"

Yes, I am posting after 3:00 in the morning. Don't mock me. I'm only up because I've been writing and working on a post of a more serious nature. But once I worked out my problem, I thought I'd google the New Kids "real quick" and I just got totally sucked in!

I was never a NKOTB fan - and I giggled at the girls in school that brought a birthday cake to school (and I'm talkin High School) when it was one of the members birthdays. Were you a part of that?

If I had to weigh in now, I'd go with the guy on the far left in the new picture you posted. He's got great eyes!

Oh sookie. I remember all the time we spent watching New Kids video's. We couldn't stand the girl in the audience that they were singing too during one of their concerts. She was soo yucky and they should have totally been into us.

Sigh. I heart NKOTB. Remember when they came out with their latest album (1990)? Step by step? There was a birthday song too. And then the song, "This ones for the children" (ah ah ah ah). I love Donny, Danny, Jordan, Jon (not really he was the yickiest as far as I was conerned!) and fo course Joey!

Ohmigosh, I hope Sam isn't referring to us bringing the birthday cake!!!! We wouldn't have done THAT would we?????

I have no recollection of the birthday cake...

I remember when we went took a bus to Frankfurt (I think) to see them in concert. It was glorious and we all got t-shirts. But then I was too embarrassed to wear it to school. I had their posters all over my wall, but out in public I tried to downplay my adoration.

I also remember Lori, Kelly and I made up a whole dance routine to one of their songs. Which one was it, do you remember Lori? I could still do a few of the moves for you today. Scary.

My first concert ever... I got hooked on Dancing with the Stars because Joey was on the first season! Stop laughing now! I loved Jordan.

Oh dear! NKOTB... even the abbreviation makes me smile! What a blast from the very long ago and forgotten past!

I was such a fan... Jordan was my fave, but I liked Donny until I got a load of his big bro Marky Mark's washboard abs!

Ahhh! The late 80... or was it the early 90's? (Whichever, it seems like eons ago!) :)

Sue,
None of these guys look like Christian Bale. So, I'm not sure about your taste in men.

Katy, I'm totally cackling at your comment about Danny! I happened to bust out our "dating" photo album a few days ago and shortly after I showed this post to Dan. He laughed and said he used to look just like Danny with his afro. Danny was my favorite New Kid, that strong, sexy jaw and all.

I'm sensing a pattern...

Black Sheep, Christian has one of those jaws, doesn't he?

Hi Sue, I saw your blog on Sara's and I just had to peek and see what was going on in your life. It's been sooo long since I last saw you. Your kids are adorable! This post had me laughing out loud. NKOTB, I can't believe they are making a comeback. I have to admit that I was in love with Jonathan! I used to have his picture on my wall, I think it might actually still be there in my old bedroom at home. Ha! Can't wait to hear them.

Never listened to them, don't know their names but I agree with Samantha, the guy on the left is pretty good looking. I'm talking here about the grown up photo. Now the fellow with the van dyke beard, he's just trying too hard to be cool. Why do guys strike that pose? Hasn't every Elder (missionary) had their picture taken posing just like van dyke guy?
