Beach=Joy

The kids and I went camping at Bear Lake on Friday & Saturday for my Cox family reunion (my Mom's side). I'm anxious to dive into all the pictures and do a big post, but for tonight I wanted to post my favorite of each of the kids. They had SO MUCH FUN playing with their cousins at the beach!

We missed Dan, and as I frolicked around taking pictures of the kids, I longed for Dan to be there to see the joy his children were experiencing. So many people have been asking me how I'm doing as a single parent and the truth is that I think I got the long end of the stick on this 13 week separation. Every night when I talk to Dan and hear about his rigorous class schedule and study requirements, I realize that I've got it pretty good here at home with the kids, in the comfort of our little home with the garden and horses and fresh air all around us. Tonight I've been overwhelmed with gratitude for Dan and his sacrifice to provide for our family. The stress of our financial burdens is diminishing and that has freed up a lot of emotional energy for me to focus on our children and remember how much I love them and how truly grateful I am to be their mother.

Looks like the weather was a bit warmer for you this time... :) It never really warmed up until Thursday when we were there. Hence VERYfew lake pictures...

You are such a great inspiration for how a wife should feel re: her hubby's work. I am amazed at how you handle it and am lucky to call you my friend!

Nice pictures!

Um, hot in a swimsuit much? Awesome! You deserve it after slaving away at you know what! (dare not mention, since well, you know.) So happy to see you!

What? The reunion quilt I selfishly decided not to give away? It will forever be a symbol of my narcissism. And I feel just fine about it.

I was still shaking sand out of a couple of the towels today, as I began to clean up and put things away for the next time. There was even enough sand to put in a zip-lock to remind me of Lily basking and rolling around in the sand, making sand angels.

I hear you on getting the long end of the stick. I get to be with the kids, and I'm never lonely. I feel a lot more sorry for Zen than I ever do for myself.

And it was a great time! You know you are an awesome photographer, right?

Sue, you fabulous gorgeous woman.....look at those toned skinny legs.

As I recall that lake is a beautiful blue but very cold. Kids never seem to notice cold water.

Great pics, it was also great to see you last week.

Did you finish your quilt? We sure missed you at you know what!!!!!! I mean geeze, you're the poster woman for HWHW!
